I live in County Sligo, and I travel all across Ireland, with no extra charge for travel expenses.
Yes please! As your wedding photographer, I will be with you for most of your day. It’s so important that we click. I’d love to meet up for a coffee, to chat through your plans, your expectations, for us to get to know each other a bit more and to ask any initial questions you might have. My preference would always be to meet up in real life. If we are too far away from each other, a video chat can be the next best thing.
Yes, all photographs are retouched a minimal amount. I adjust lighting and tone, I crop unwanted things out of frame, I make sure that the images you receive are to the highest standard without altering reality or over-editing. I don’t remove objects, photoshop in missing people, or smooth wrinkles! At the end of the day, the images should represent reality - the best version of that reality! All of the photographs on my website have been retouched, so you can get the idea of the final product.
Absolutely not. I want the photographs I take to go to a good home and to bring you years of wonderful memories. I don’t cap any amount of photographs and I don’t promise an exact amount of photographs because some days are longer than others and I pretty much shoot through the time I’m there for. I would hate for any photographs to be sitting on my computer that should be in your photo album. They’re your photographs.
I always like to have a little list in my back pocket of specific shots you would like, so that on the day you don’t have to think about it. So although I don’t need a long list - I will photograph the day naturally as it unfolds- if you have an elderly aunt you want to have a special photo with, or a sentimental pin on your bouquet etc, let me know so that I will be sure not to miss those things. I’ll have them on the day so that I can be ticking them off without you worrying about it.
This is a chat I like to have with each individual couple, because not all wedding days are alike. Some people have different locations in mind for couple photos, and you might want to take your time and make the most of it. Others may want to spend as much time as possible with guests, in which case I promise to work as quickly as possible while still delivering beautiful images. It’s definitely good to chat it through and see what’s most important to you. These chats can be really beneficial actually because it’s something for you to talk through that you might not have thought about before.
I love the buzz of both partners getting ready, but not everyone wants to be photographed in the morning, which I fully understand, so it’s a conversation for you both to have. Some people are happy for me to go to where they’re getting ready to get the whole vibe of the morning. Others would prefer for me to meet them a little bit early at the venue to take some quick portraits or family photos there. I am always here to talk you through your different options, of what I could recommend, and what’s right for you.
Good question. This is Ireland and it might rain. Often though, if you see rain clouds in the forecast for your day, it is just for a half hour here or an hour there. It’s my job to have scouted out the most beautiful indoor locations for back up, as well as grabbing you for a couple of minutes when the sun comes out. A photography funfact: cloudy skies actually make for the most flattering portraits, so a typical Irish sky can be a good thing!
Yes! A couple session or an engagement shoot is a short photoshoot of just the two of you in a forest or on a beach etc, before your actual wedding day. Couple sessions are a wonderful way to get comfortable in front of the camera, to get to know me, to ask me any questions about your photos. You might be nervous of having your photo taken on the day, and this is a great way to get rid of those nerves and realise how effortless (and dare I say - fun) it can be to have your photo taken together in a relaxed atmosphere. As well as a sort of practice run, you’ll receive a selection of photos where you can look back and remember a time in your life when you were filled with excitement of the year ahead.
I almost never work with a second photographer, as I like to keep things as low key and minimal as possible. However, sometimes I am asked for a second shooter. It might be needed in times for example if you want both partners photographed in the morning but the venues are very far away from eachother and I can’t be at both. A second shooter can also simply be an option to get a whole extra batch of photographs. For example when I’m off with you guys getting couple photos, a second shooter can be photographing guests. It’s usually not needed, but it’s always an option and I’m happy to chat about it.
After your wedding, when the planning and the party is over, it’s a lovely feeling to be excited about your photographs. With me as your photographer, you can look forward to receiving a beautiful wooden USB box with a selection of prints in the post. Your images will also be delivered to you in an online gallery along with a slideshow that you can send to friends and family. During peak seasons (Summer and Christmas periods) it can take up to six week to receive your photographs. At all other times, it takes no longer than four weeks. If you would like a photo album, it can be added to your package. I have two options to choose from and we can talk through which would work best for you!
Yes, I am fully insured with both public liability and professional indemnity insurances.
It is a major responsibility to photograph a wedding. You better believe I have backups or I wouldn’t sleep at night! I shoot with two cameras, and in each of those two cameras are two SD cards which are simultaneously saving the same images. I come home and immediately back up the files onto my laptop and then again onto my hard drive. So yes, I have backups on top of backups. I also get my cameras serviced and have the most up to date equipment so I leave nothing to chance.
I hope so! Get in touch to let me know when your wedding is and we can take it from there!
